Leaf-miner

Tubular silken case, up to 8 mm long. Behind the mouth the case
is sharply bent; as a result the mouth angle is 0° and is the
case aprressed to the substrate (Bladmineerders van Europa).
Larva: The larvae of moths have a head capsule and chewing mouthparts with opposable mandibles (see video of a gracillarid larva feeding), six thoracic legs and abdominal legs (see examples).
Pupa: The pupae of moths have visible head appendages, wings and legs which lie in sheaths (see examples).

Distribution elsewhere: Widespread in continental Europe including Croatia, Czech Republic,

Switzerland. Also recorded in East Palaearctic (Fauna Europaea).
