Penstemon is not recorded in the wild in Britain, although is cultvated in gardens

Elsewhere the polyphagous agromyzid Liriomyza huidobrensis is recorded mining Penstemon.

The polyphagous agromyzid Liriomyza huidobrensis has been recorded in quarantine in Britain (Pitkin & Plant in British leafminers). See also Liriomyza species in Glasshouses and/or Quarantine Interceptions.
