CERATOPHYLUM. Hornworts. [Ceratophyllaceae]


Two species of Ceratophyllum are recorded in Britain. These include the Rigid Hornwort (C. demersum) and Soft Hormwort (C. submersum). The BSBI provide a downloadable plant cribs for the identification of species of Ceratophyllum.

No Diptera miners are recorded mining Ceratophyllum in Britain or elsewhere.

The crambid Parapoynx stratiotata feeds between spun leaves of Ceratophyllum in Britain and elsewhere.
